17 year old SEA Games 100 Meter Champion Kayla Richardson of the Philippines and her twin sister Kyla who ran in the 4×100 have signed with USC Trojans (University of Southern California).

While the two twin sisters who were introduced to Philippine Athletics by pinoyathletics.info. They will both be under the program of one of the countries top women sprint coach. Also under the guidance of 1992 Olympic Champion Quincy Watts.

Furthermore the duo will be working with USC Director Caryl Smith Gilbert.

While Kyla will focusing on the short sprints. Kayla who is the 2015 SEA Games Champion in 100 Meters and Silver medalist in the 200, will be looking at moving upto the 400 Meter Dash. Kayla currently holds the Philippine Junior Record in the 100 Meter Dash with 11.65 set last year.

Consequently her time in the Heats of the Singapore SEA Games of 23.67, is the closest any female has got to the Junior Record of the great Lydia De Vega 23.54 set in 1981. While Kayla followed in De Vega footsteps to win SEA Games Gold at 17, she has until December 31, 2016 to break that record.

Both Girls hope to qualify for the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Therefore the Twins will start at USC which is a competitive school in the US NCAA Division 1 collegiate division. While Kyla has applied for film school, Kayla will be pursuing a degree in health science.

Located in Los Angeles, USC was founded in 1880.
