Fil-Heritage sprinter Brandon Thomas, blasted out his season with a speedy 10.51 run, albeit a +3.6 tail wind placing second at the springtime invitational.
Thomas looks ready to defend the national title he won last year representing the Philippine Airforce. It didn’t come easy though for Thomas, who fought hamstring problems for several years which put him out of competition. Last year in Laguna at the National Open Thomas ran 10.72 in the Semi Finals of the National Open, and then hopped and dragged a sore hamstring fighting all the way to win his first national title in 10.80 seconds. The Airforce had won the coveted mens 100m title in 2014 with Eric Cray at the National Games in Manila. Thomas looks to make it three years in a row for the Airforce. 2015 SEA Games 100m Champion Cray is the long time friend and training partner of Thomas.
Thomas will be running once again for Philippine Airforce, Airforce is proudly sponsored by L-TimeStudio, Asics and Sorrento.
Thomas had missed out on selection in the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore by one or two spots. But it didn’t stop Thomas who is more determined than ever to represent the Philippines and carries the colors to every meet he races at.
Thomas has a legitimate personal best of 10.59 set four years ago.
Its looking like Thomas main opponent at the National Open will be 20 year old Jomar Udtohan the NCAA Record Holder who just ran 10.66 and a windy 10.59.
