SEA Games 100m Champion Eric Cray, 28. Debuted over the 100m in 2017 with a SEA leading time of 10.31 at the UTEP Springtime Meet at El Paso. The wind reading was +2.0 which was the maximum allowable limit.
Cray is the SEA Games 2015 Champion and at the same time the Philippine Record Holder with a time of 10.25.
Cray will see action at the Philippine National Open in Isabella. Cray best rival perhaps for the 2017 SEA Games would be perhaps Asian Junior Champion Khairul Jantan of Malaysia. Jantan, 18 best time is 10.18, and he has ran 10.46 so far this year. The SEA Games record belongs to Surya Agung Wibowo (Indonesia) 10.17.
Jantan will run the 100 tonight in South Africa Grand Prix series.
Cray also clocked a new personal best and 2017 Philippine leading time of 21.25 (0.1) in the 200m dash. Just 0.13 outside Trenten Beram national record of 21.12. Cray finished third in this race behind Asa Guevara of UTEP 21.06 and Abiola Onaokoya 21.16.
