Ruiz performance exceeded the 2015 SEA Games gold medal jump of Supanara of Thailand (7.75m).

Excited. I knew I could jump much further than previous weeks. I was just a little rusty I think. Heading to the National Open tonight. said Ruiz.

Tyler now heads off to the Philippines National Open in Iligan, Isabella. It will be a magnificent final with NCAA Record Holder Julian Reem Fuentes (7.69m), 2015 SEA Games bronze medalist Donovont Arriola (7.64m) and 2015 ASEAN School Games Record Holder Jerry Belibestre (7.47m) seeing action. Only two of these four men will be selected for the 2017 SEA Games in Malaysia. NCAA Silver medalist Aristeo Dela Pena (7.44m), 2011 SEA Games bronze medalist Benigno Marayag (7.61m) and Janry Ubas (7.55m).
